Easy Ways to Make Your Lashes Look Longer

I bet I am not alone in my quest for longer looking lashes! Am I?

Despite what you are born with, most women are constantly searching for ways to generate a mini wind storm when they bat their lashes.

Here are a few simple ways to maximize the length of your lashes - without a single false strip in sight!

Tip 1: - Coat On

This first tip is pretty obvious, but worth mentioning. Wearing any mascara will make your lashes look more noticeable and using specialized mascaras enhance the length and even add fiber extensions for that false lash effect without the false lashes!

Some of my favorite lengthening mascaras are Benefit's They're Real and Maybelline Illegal Length.

Tip 2: - Go Lineless

Lining the upper eye makes the lashes look fuller at their base, but the heavier they are lined, the higher your base looks on the lid. This in turn can make the lashes look a little shorter than they really are. To keep as much length as possible, skip the liner all together or make a very thin line. Another alternative if you must have your liner, is to only line the 'tightline'. This means running your pencil on the inside of the top lash line. This would make the lashes look a little fuller and still not take away any length.

Tip 3: - Lighten Up

If you want your lashes to look longer, we've got to see them. Use light shadows on the lid to provide as much contrast of your lashes against your skin. Though smoky eyes can look fierce, the lashes get lost in the dark colors.

Tip 4: - Curl Away

If you have straight lashes or lashes that point downwards or in different directions, using an eyelash curler will do you many favors! Lash curlers gather all the lashes together and point them in the same direction - upwards! This technique helps open the eyes and makes the lashes stand out a lot more.

Tip 5: - Powder Power

I havent tried this yet but apparently dusting some white powder on the lashes before applying mascara can help add some length to the lashes by giving the mascara tiny tips at the ends to hold on to.
