Today I tried out a side french manicure that I think adds a bit of interest to the nails without looking too overdone. And did I say it was easy? So easy!!
All you need are 2 nail colors of your choice! The Side French Manicure is much easier to pull off than the regular French Manicure because you follow the line of the nail instead of across it.
Step 1: After applying your base coat, paint the entire nail in the color you want at the side to peek through.
Step 2: Paint over the first color with the nail polish you want for the majority of the nail and just leave out a space at the side where the color underneath can show.
Step 3: Apply a top coat for shine and longevity and you are done!
I think this adds a really cool mod or color blocking look to the nails and can be done in the same amount of time as it regularly takes to give yourself a one-color manicure.
The colors I used for this look are Revlon Colorstay Provence which retails for about $4.99 and Revlon Midnight Affair, which retails for about $7.99 in drugstores.
Thanks so much for reading!
Do you prefer the side french manicure or the classic?
