NOTM: Julep Get the Look Duo (Lily & Barbara)

I've been seeing ads for Julep nail polish everywhere for ages. I dare you to say you haven't!

Over the holidays, they had a blowout sale on their website and I decided to take advantage of it. I got a pretty sweet deal on this toxin-free nail polish duo called Get the Look consisting of Lily, a creamy bright pink and Barbara, a sparkly magenta.

The long, slim glass packaging is different from any nail polish I own but the brush and formulation are pretty standard. 

I love me a bright pink any day and Lily is a perfect shade for an eye-catching pink that still isn't so in-your-face. The formulation of the polish is very creamy and smooth with no shimmer or glitter and applies opaquely after 2 coats. 

 Barbara is a glittery purple with tons of pink and purple flakes instead of glitter chunks. The flakes lie down pretty flat and the base is almost clear - but takes about 3 coats to cover the nail opaquely.

With the sale, I got both of these polishes as a set for $7.99 at Julep.com. I don't see it as a duo on the website anymore but they can be purchased individually for $14 each.

Bottomline: I do like these polishes a lot. They are smooth and are easy to work with. Without the sale, however, I doubt that I would pay full-price for both of them though since they are not that unique. Service was great and shipping was fast and free.

I'd give this a 4 out of 5.
