As I'm sure most of us know, NYX Jumbo Pencils are great as bases for eyeshadows and can be used as eyeliners as well. But have you tried them as a highlighter?
Weird, I know, but hopefully you will understand what I mean by the end of this short post.
For the last few weeks, I've been a little lazy with my makeup and thought it was just way too much effort to grab a small brush, dip it in some highlighter product and place on to those magical highlight areas of the face - you know - inner eye corner, cupid's bow, yada ya.
Anyway, I glanced over to my Jumbo Eye Pencil collection and thought Yogurt looked like a great substitute for a highlighter and Boy George, it worked!
In the photo above, I used it on my cupid's bow on my top lip and it just adds a natural brightness to it and makes the lips look youthful, healthy and full.
It can also be applied to other areas of the face such as the inner eye corner, brow bone, nose bridge and tops of the cheeks. (Tip: When using it on the lips, it may be useful to apply the Jumbo Pencil before lipstick or gloss to avoid staining the pencil).
This particular shade, Yogurt, should look lovely on most skin tones and if blended out well, give a soft glow to the skin. It is not stark white - it has a frosty, champagne pink tone, which is quite flattering for this purpose.
Thanks for reading!

I love using Yogurt as a highlight! I usually only use it in the inner corner though. I will definitely try it on the cupid's bow, it looks so pretty there! Thanks for the suggestion!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. I started out using it on the inner corner too.....then I got a little carried away :-)
DeleteI've got milk and cottage cheese, but I find them both too stark white to do these things :( ... yogurt looks so pretty
ReplyDeleteIts a great shade for this! :-)
DeleteLooks absolutely gorgeous on the cupids bow!
ReplyDeleteThanks! You should try it :-)
DeleteI've never tried Yogurt as a cheek highlighter before. Such a good idea!

Yea, it works a lot like a cream highlighter :-)
DeleteThis is such a cool idea! I just have one question, and it's probably dumb, but I have a jumbo pencil in black that I like using on my lower lid. Any ideas on how to sharpen it?? xx
ReplyDeleteHi Amelia! Its not a dumb question haha. I use a Sephora sharpener that has a regular pencil sized hole on one side and an oversized one on the other side but I think you can get that from any stationery store. This is the one I have: http://www.sephora.com/professional-dual-pencil-sharpener-P20042?skuId=608844 NYX needs to start making these jumbo pencils with the twist up things :-)
