I hope you are doing well. Today I have a review for a new-ish blush from The Balm. Instain is a line of powder blushes from The Balm that promise a a long-wear stain on the skin.
The shade Toile is a beautiful peachy-pink with a matte finish. Because of its universality, I have been wearing this blush consistently for about 2 weeks. It goes with just about any look I am trying to achieve.
The Instain blushes come in super cute packaging with a full mirror and beautiful graphic designs that match the shade inside. The body is made of sturdy cardboard and the lid snaps with a magnetic closure.
Toile is super pigmented and swatches very easily, so I applied to the cheeks with a light-handed brush stroke and build up intensity when desired. Even on my dark skin, the color shows through but still looks quite natural.
However, the first time I wore it, I applied like I would for a regular blush and ended up with crazy clown cheeks (I'm too embarrassed to show the photo here. Lol). So a little goes a long way!
I have found that the long-wear claims certainly did hold up really well. Even after a whole 8-hour day and after-work activities in the summer heat, the Instain blush survived my inner grease-monster like a warrior! I have to say, this is probably the first blush I've used that held up so well.
Instain blushes can be purchased online from The Balm's website for $22. I got mine from Amazon for $18.
Overall, I really love this blush and I cant find anything negative to say about it. The color is completely gorgeous and wearable for just about any skin-tone and the longevity is just top notch! Even with my very oily skin, this blush survived many long, sweltering days - even when my foundation did not.
I give the Instain blush in Toile a 5/5!
Thanks for reading!
