Hope you're having a great start to your weekend. Today's post features a vibrant lipstick from the Kardashian sisters. Khroma Beauty's Joystick in Shocking Pink is a rich and creamy magenta shade that is packaged in a slim, twist up tube.
As you could imagine by looking at the packaging, the actual tube of lipstick is a bit skinny. It seemed a little strange the first time I opened it but I realized it's really quite nifty! The pointed end of the lipstick can be used much like a lip liner to outline your puckers and then the tube can be used on its side to shade in the rest of the lips. This makes it easier to achieve a precise application.
While I'm on the topic of application, I really enjoy the finish and smoothness of this lipstick. It goes on very creamily and feels like butter on the lips. There is also no shimmer or sparkle in it and applies opaquely in one swipe.
The moisturizing layer lasts on the lips for about an hour or two after which, the color acts similar to a stain for a few more hours. The longevity of this product as a whole was quite good with a total of about 5 or 6 hours with normal wear. Touchups are easy because the slim tube makes it harder for you to get the color on the outside of your lips if you're not using a mirror.
In my world, this shade isn't truly "shocking" but I think its really pretty nevertheless. It's very rich and opaque and is quite comparable to MAC's Girl About Town, which if you didn't know, is my favorite lipstick of all time! So, if you don't want to spend $15 on that, Khroma's Shocking Pink will be a great dupe.
Khroma/Kardashian Beauty Joysticks are sold at Ulta and drugstores for $8.99.
Overall, I think this product is great. The shade, longevity and color payoff are all impressive and the somewhat unique design gives it a bit of novelty as well as efficiency. For the price, I can't really find anything to complain about.
As a side note, I think there is some renaming going on of this line. When I purchased this Joystick about a month ago, it was labeled Khroma Beauty but on the websites its labeled as Kardashian Beauty. So I am including both names here for your convenience if you stumble upon them in-store or online.
I give this Joystick in Shocking Pink a 4/5.
